A hydrangea is the perfect "in-between" flower from summer to fall. Enjoy their gorgeous colors all summer...then dry them by the bushel for beautiful fall arrangements all fall (and winter) long. This design has two sizes and two formats. Download your favorite version below.

As many of you know, I love to read (that's why I make so many printable bookmarks). I'm a fiction person...but usually historical fiction. However, for the summer season, I throw caution to the wind and hunker down in pure, unabashed chick lit beach reads (it's a specific, but well-covered genre). My favorite author is Elin Hilderbrand. I have read every one of her books. She's actually retiring from writing this year (I recently finished her final book, Swan Song). As a fun jog down memory lane, I'm working on rereading all of her books (I started in June and hope to finish in late September). This goal has reminded me that my favorite book of hers (and possibly all authors) is 28 Summers. And that book inspired today's blue hydrangea printables.

28 Summers
When I told my husband that Elin Hilderbrand was retiring, he was sad for me...he knows how much I look forward to her new book every summer season. I was explaining my favorite one to him and he decided to read it himself. Here he is, above, about three quarters of the way through 28 Summers. He finished it on a plane...a bit teary-eyed! It's a good one.

The main character, Mallory Blessing, has a very particular tradition of putting "the last summer bloom of the hydrangea bush" into a glass jar on her kitchen table for the Labor Day weekend. So, this is my little version of Mallory's hydrangea jar. I hope you enjoy it.

Getting the Most out of your Hydrangea Printables:

  • Please note that this design is for personal use only. However, if you would like to use these designs for your business, please purchase a commercial license here.
  • These designs are available in the following sizes and formats:
    • 8x10" JPEG and PDF formats
    • 5x7" JPEG and PDF formats
  • The PDF formatted printables are perfect for easy, at-home printing. They are all set up on letter-sized pages.
  • The 5x7" PDF designs are laid out with two designs per page to cut down on paper waste. You'll need to just trim all of the designs for simple framing (I've provided small hairlines around the perimeters of the 5x7" designs to make cutting easier).
  • When printing your PDF files at home, be sure to use letter-sized white cardstock for your printables. Regular paper is too thin and often looks a bit off-color once printed.
  • The JPEG designs are perfect to print just like you would an image or photo. You can even upload the JPEGs to your local photo printing place and have them professionally printed (just be sure to order matte instead of glossy). If you run into copyright issues with printing at a photo place, just show the print shop this post on your phone. You have my complete permission to print these designs.
  • While there is only one background option on this particular print, it's very light washed watercolored stripes and won't take up much ink at all. The design felt empty without it.
