These 15 free Victorian Font Downloads will have you feeling quite proper, British, and ready to read a bit of Dickens. These ornate typefaces are fun to play around with and make lovely fonts for invitations, printables, crafts, and more. So, sit down, preferably at tea time, and peruse these lovely Victorian Font Downloads.
I can't think of anything more fun (and kind of fancy) than a few Victorian Font designs. While these fonts aren't completely *authentic* Victorian pieces, they're certainly close enough for entertainment purposes. And goodness, they're just lovely to look through. Use one to print out your favorite Jane Austen quote for a bulletin board. Or, create some romantic Valentines with one or two. They really have such a great feel to them. Victorian Font Downloads
I just love vintage time period fonts. They're like mini time capsules that lend so much detail and a bit of authenticity (well, for the most part) to prints and such. And these Victorian ones were so enjoyable to put together. Each one I found was better than the last. Hoping you enjoy these. Would love to hear the projects and designs that you create using them.
Can I also say that the graphics for this post were so fun to put together? I am in love with the hat on the woman in the above piece. It's so over-the-top and frilly...I can't get enough of it. Imagine the headache, though!
In hindsight, the term "simple", as I used above in the graphic is probably a bit silly. I mean there isn't much simplicity to a lot of Victorian-era goods, in general. It's all so over-the-top and ornate. What I actually meant by "simple" was the use of just two fonts in each set that I shared below.
Nevertheless, I did create some fun font pairings below for you to enjoy. With these ornate fonts, it is best to limit how much "fluff" is in each saying. So, with the overly frilly fonts, I paired the simpler, more understated ones.
The quotes used were from some classics from the era.

Installing Your Victorian Font Downloads
- I'm actually a diehard Mac user (since 1997!) and I honestly don't know much about how a PC works. But, after doing a little research, I found a helpful tutorial for your PC users on How to Install Fonts from Microsoft. It gives a great, step-by-step tutorial.
- Since I am well-versed in the Apple way of life, I'm happy to give my own tutorial on how to install these Victorian fonts on a Mac. Follow my steps below:
Installing Fonts on a Mac:
- After downloading your Victorian font of choice (listed out below), open your download folder (or wherever your downloads end up).
- Open the folder of the font (just FYI: in some cases, there may not be a folder, it may just be the actual font file, in which case, you won't have to open a folder).
- Double click the .ttf or .otf file. I prefer the .otf or Open Type Format files if they're available, they can be resized and manipulated without compromising their quality. But, they're not always available. The .ttf file will still work just fine.
- Once you've double clicked the .ttf or .otf file, the dialog box should automatically pop up.
- Click 'Install Font' and your installation should automatically begin (it takes about two seconds, total).
- Be sure to check your Font Book to make sure your new font is there.
- You can start using your new Victorian font right away.

All of the font downloads are listed out individually below. Kindly make note of the following:
- Click on the name of the font to be taken to its download page. I have also provided an additional link directly under each font, as well.
- On each font's download page, you will also find the Terms of Use that each font designer provides. It is extremely important to adhere to their policies, especially where commercial usage is concerned. Most have options for licensing available.
- I also added a "There is no time like the present" under every font name so you can see how the font looks in that particular phrase (such a Victorian type of phrase, don't you think?).
