Today's free printable Pumpkin Garland is a bright and colorful way to add a splash of fun to your fall decor. With its orange and blue pumpkins and plaid pink background, this sweet lil' banner is bound to make your smile. Download yours below.
I guess I'm one of those people who tend to go against the norm. While everyone else has nice, calm soothing whites and neutrals going on, I can't seem to get away from bright colors. Whether I'm out of style or not, I just love lots and lots of color. And this pumpkin garland is certainly no different. I even upped its color factor with lots of ribbon and ricrac embellishments. You can download this banner and see my entire color-explosion of a fall mantel below.

Pumpkin Garland
While this probably looks like the same mantel that I've shared this past year over and over, (just "fallified"), I actually rearranged the entire thing this season. I also swapped out the oval mirror that had been up here for a bit for this rectangular one that was hiding in a storage closet. I moved my blue and white Staffordshire dog figures to the entryway, too, and brought out the little miniature busts (embellished in jewelry and ribbon) to change it up a bit. I was able to tuck in loads of flowers from my garden, as well. But, I think the thing that ties it all together is today's free printable pumpkin garland. I tried to use all of my mantel colors in its pennants.
Printing and Embellishing your Pumpkin Garland
Supplies for Pumpkin Garland
- pumpkin printouts (available below for download)
- Be sure to print these onto letter-sized white cardstock. Regular paper is too thin for banners and garlands. You can grab a pack of letter-sized white cardstock here on Amazon.
- twine for stringing your banner
- smaller hole punch (I prefer this 1/8" punch instead of a standard hole punch...it doesn't distract from the design as much).
- scissors or a paper trimmer to cut out your pennants
I also added the following embellishments to my banner (totally optional, but fun!):
- pink gingham ribbon
- blue gingham ribbon
- orange grosgrain ribbon (I actually used a wider piece of orange ribbon, but I recommend the smaller one that I linked...I found that the thinner pieces were easier to tie onto the twine.)
- multi-colored pack of ricrac (I used the pinks, blues, and orange out of the pack)
Directions
- After cutting out my pennants, I punched holes in their top corners.
- Then, I strung them together with my twine.
- I also precut my ribbons and ricrac to about 10" long per strip.
- I used one piece of ribbon and one piece of ricrac between each pennant (as pictured above).
- I simply tied them onto the twine in a knot.
I like the extra textures and dimensions that the ribbons and ricrac add to the banner.
I think it all works together with my blue and white pieces.
I also shared the Free Pink Pumpkins Printables on Wednesday. They have several size options available.
I was able to use a lot of flowers from my cutting garden on the mantel, too. I added marigolds to my zinnias...I love the texture of their greenery.
