Years ago, I created a Santa Letterhead to use with my own kids. I really thought I had posted it here on I Should Be Mopping the Floor, but for the life of me, I can't find it anywhere now. So, I figured it was the perfect time to dive in and create a brand new version of a Santa Letterhead Printable. Free Santa Letterhead Printable

I'm usually not too over-the-top with Santa stuff. But, when my kids were young, it was pretty fun to play him up a bit. That Elf fella didn't come along (in our home) until the mid-elementary school years. So, prior to that, I would send a few letters from the North Pole (I'll share with you how I even got them postmarked to look extra authentic below) letting my boys know they needed to be extra good. This was always helpful in a season where things can quickly run off the rails in the child-rearing department (in a manner of speaking). They've just got to be good for goodness' sake, right?

Making Your Letterhead Look More Authentic

There are some extra steps you can take to make your letter(s) from Santa a bit more authentic, should you choose. Well, as authentic as a fake letter from the North Pole can seem, I suppose. Nonetheless, below are my favorite tips:

• If you download the JPEG version, your printer's dialog box *should* give you the option to shrink the image to 25-50% of its original size for printing. Doing this means you can play a bit with the paper's edges (as pictured above). Rip the edges for an extra rustic look. 
• Run a damp tea bag across the paper to age it. Allow to dry thoroughly and wrinkle a bit. It will work perfectly with the font used here for an old-world Christmas feel. 
• Print onto aged parchment paper for an antique look without the extra work. You can purchase a pack of aged parchment paper here on Amazon.
• Fold your letter for an envelope and have it post-marked from the North Pole (details below).

Getting a North Pole Postmark

Did you know you can get an authentic North Pole postmark on letters? It's so fun to add that extra detail to one of these cute notes from Santa.

• Anchorage, Alaska has an official North Pole postmark for you to utilize. You must have your mail to them before December 10th, though. 
• Write out Santa's letter on his letterhead printable (download below). Fold it into an envelope and seal it shut. 
• Address the envelope to your child on the front with your complete home address. The return address should read: "Santa, North Pole".
• Important: be sure to attach a first-class postage stamp to the envelope addressed to your child.
• Place that envelope in a larger envelope and address it to:

• The postal workers will open your envelope and stamp the letter to your child with the official North Pole Postmark and send it back to your house.
• Then, it's HAPPY MAIL when the note arrives.
• And you can do this with your holiday Christmas cards, too. There are more cities that do similar postmarks such as Santa Claus, Indiana; Snowflake, AZ; Noel, Missouri, and more. For more information, see the USPS site regarding special holiday mail.

Printing Tips for your Letterhead Printable

• Again, this Santa Letterhead Printable comes in three color options: black, red, or green.
• Each color is available in both JPEG and PDF options. 
• As I mentioned above, you can play around with the size options in your printer's dialog box for the JPEG printable. On my home printers, I am only able to do this when printing from my actual computer and not one of my devices. 

• Above is what my printer's dialog box looks like after I send my design to print. Look for the scale button and resize your image to your preference.
