Yay! It's Christmas recipe card day! Today's free printable recipe cards come in both 4x6" and 3x5" sizes with a festive holly and berry flair. They also have light green watercolor washes in the background. These would make darling gifts for friends and family this holiday season.
As you probably already know, I love printable recipe cards. They're like keepsakes to me when filled in with a family recipe from a friend. And they truly make the best gifts. Download these Free Printable Recipe Cards (4x6" and 3x5") below.
Free Printable Recipe Cards 4x6 and 3x5
Even in this digital age, I really prefer a good, old-fashioned recipe card. Just this past weekend, I made some spiced strawberry jam off of a hand-written recipe card from my mother. Seeing her handwriting (splattered with previous batches of jam) brought back a flood of sweet memories and emotions. In my kitchen, I keep her (over-stuffed and over-flowing) recipe box that includes hand-written recipe cards from my late uncle, as well. He was the pastry chef at a San Antonio restaurant back in the 1950s and 60s. Having a collection of his recipes for mouth-watering treats is one thing, but to have them all in his own handwriting makes them that much more special (his notes in the margins are the best!).
Today's free printable recipe cards are fairly simply in nature, but perfect for the holiday season. If you send goodies to friends and family this time of the year, be sure to include the recipe, as well. It would look extra festive on one of these recipe cards.
Gifting Recipe Cards
Again, these make fantastic (and budget-friendly) Christmas gifts. Below are a few ideas for gifting them.
- Print and cut out a dozen cards. Wrap with a Christmas colored baker's twine (grab some here on Amazon) for a simple gift to teachers, neighbors, or anyone, really.
- Take your bundle of recipe cards up a notch by attaching them to a couple of festive tea towels or a wooden spoon.
- Print and fill out several of the recipe cards with your own favorite seasonal recipes. Gift to younger adults just starting out, perhaps in a wooden recipe box, to get them going on their own holiday recipe collection. This recipe box here on Amazon works well for the 4x6" cards.
- Put together the dry ingredients for your favorite pie or casserole. Purchase a pretty pie plate or casserole dish and compile the ingredients, along with the recipe (written on one of these cards), into the dish. This is a great gift for anyone who loves to cook or bake.
Printing and Using Your Recipe Cards
- You can download both sizes of these recipe cards below.
- These cards are for personal use only. You may certainly use them for gifting. However, they are not to be reproduced to resell in any manner. I do have several printable packs available for Commercial Licensing here.
- The 4x6" cards print with two cards on each page.
- The 3x5" cards print with three cards on each page.
- Recipe cards should always be printed onto white cardstock. These cards were designed to be printed onto letter-sized sheets. Regular paper is too thin for this use, it will curl on the corners once they're cut.
- Print using the NORMAL setting on your printer.
- Cut out just inside that red hairline border on each card.
