I couldn't let the series pass me by without an adorable doggy Christmas card (or two!). These Dachshund Christmas Cards are modeled after my own 11-year-old Dachshund. Because who doesn't love a good wiener dog? You can grab either design of these Dachshund Christmas Cards below.
I just love a cute dog card...and if it's a Dachshund? Even better, y'all. I'm a dog person through and through...but more than that, a wiener dog owner and lover. Whether you own a dog or have a friend who is a dog-lover that would appreciate one of these in the mail, be sure to grab either design of these free printable Dachshund Christmas Cards for some holiday happy mail.
Free Printable Dachshund Christmas Cards
While I mainly post my greeting card designs over on my new blog, Print Pretty Cards, these days, I figured, what's a Christmas printable series without any actual greeting cards? So, I'm throwing today's prints in for that very reason. If you haven't met her yet, allow me to introduce you to our own Dachshund, Chloe. She is actually a Standard Dachshund (not the more common miniature version of this breed). Chloe's been with us for almost six years, but she'll actually turn 12 in January (she was a rescue dog). While she's an ornery one, she's also the sweetest pup around. These Dachshund Christmas Cards were made with our Chloe in mind.
Christmas also happens to be Chloe's favorite time of the year. No, really. I know this because every year when the tree goes up, she drags her bed across the room to lay underneath it and bask in the glow of the twinkle lights. It's quite comical, actually. But, it also tells me of her love of the holiday season (I'm sure).
Dachshund Christmas Card Designs
I have both Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays versions of this card design below. Both Dachshunds are surrounded in a red swirly badge-shaped frame and then beyond that is the classic black and white gingham check print. I just love black, white, and red as a fun Christmas color combination. It's just a slightly out of the range of "classic Christmas colors", but still feels so holidayish.
Who wouldn't love to receive a card with a Dachshund in a festive sweater and a pom-pom topped stocking cap? If I could only get Chloe okay with wearing sweaters, I'd have made her the cover model for this card.
Printing and Using Your Dachshund Christmas Cards
- As with all of my free printables, these are for personal use only (please do not resell in any manner). If you're interested in licensing, be sure to see all of the available Commercial Licensed Printables that I do have available.
- These cards are designed to be printed onto white, letter-sized cardstock. Regular paper is too thin for greeting cards.
- Print these using your NORMAL or BEST setting on your home printer.
- After they're printed, cut them out around the perimeter (or just inside it to remove the outline).
- Fold the card in half. You can rub either the handle side of stainless steel scissors or a bone folder along the folded edge of your card to create a smooth crease.
- Write your own sentiments inside the card.
Envelopes for Your Cards
All of my free printable greeting cards are created for size A6 envelopes. Standard-sized A6 envelopes measure 4 3/4" x 6 1/2". Today's Dachshund Christmas Card designs would look cute in either white, red, or kraft paper style envelopes (the kraft paper will give these a rustic vibe).
- Grab the white A6 envelopes here on Amazon.
- Grab the red A6 envelopes here on Amazon.
- Grab the kraft paper A6 envelopes here on Amazon.

DeleteDear Kristi:
ReplyDeleteI love the doxhound cards. We have a doxwawa. His name is Teddy Bear. About 10 years ago I lost a dog named Clair in the middle of one of our worst summers. She was old 24 at the time but it broke me up because she was my little shadow. Well my daughter works for the local police department and she gave my son a poster of "Bear" and I fell in love. I had to change his name because he wasn't a bear he was a little teddy bear. The man who owned him could not afford him anymore. You see he was a escape artist and every time the man went to get him out of doggy jail after the first time they doubled the cost so you could see it could add up real fast. My kids got him for me for Christmas that year. I just love him. He stays around me if he is in the house but if my husband goes out he is out the door in a flash. He loves his daddy too. If you don't know what a doxwawa is is a doxhound Chowowa mix. Please forgive my spelling but I have never been able to spell chowaowa.
What a sweet story. Dogs definitely hold a special place in our hearts. Hoping you have a lovely holiday season. xoxo
DeleteWish one of the cards was with the dachshund in a reddish brown. That's the color of my doxwawa. Although he looks like a dachshund he is probably the chawaough (sp) he is a real lover but let someone come into the house uninvited and he does not know them He will light into him

DeleteThank you so much for the wiener dog cards (after 12 years with my teddy bear I still can't spell it) but he is a mix and we say he is a doxwawa but he looks like a wiener dog. He's the traditional beige but he is the sweetest dog you could ever want. I will send these to family this year from him. He is a real lover. He also was a shelter dog. He has us tied around his little toe.
