My mother always said that one should keep a stack of thank you notes on hand at all times...you never know when they're going to be needed. I've always tried hard to stay on top of sending notes of appreciation out. The best way to do so is to have actual cards at the ready. These free printable thank you cards are seriously the best since they can be stored digitally. Just print, trim, and fold. The insides of these cards are blank for your own sentiments. Their simple designs are actually some of my favorites. While the black and white design is pretty sleek and classic, the other seven colors are fun and happy.

As you can see from the above image, the colors on these printable thank you cards are super fun. They each contrast and pop perfectly against the white backgrounds. I'm honestly not sure which one of my favorite. But, that green is pretty darn stunning.

Tips for Writing Great Thank You Notes

One of the things I miss most about my mom is her ability to know all the things about southern etiquette and such. Namely, thank you notes. Here are a few of my favorite tips she always shared when we sat down to write thank you notes.

• Be sure to address your receiver immediately: "Dear Sue" or "Hi, Melanie". Gauge the formality of the note based on your relationship of the person you're sending the note to.
• Name the gift specifically after your first "Thank you" and use a nice adjective. As in: "Thank you so much for the lovely gravy boat." 
• Point out your favorite thing about the gift you were given. "The gravy boat will be so pretty at my next dinner party. It matches my china perfectly."
• Let your recipient know how much they mean to you: "Your friendship means the world to me" or "You're such a wonderful cousin, I cherish our relationship".
• If you're writing a thank you note for an event (being invited to a dinner party or a weekend stay at someone's home), use the same guidelines, but point out your favorite things about the event or your time together. "I loved everything about our weekend, especially dinner at the restaurant on the beach. It was very memorable."

• Download your favorite color of these cards below.
• These thank you cards are for personal use. However, if you do own a small shop or business and would like to carry or use these items for marketing, you can purchase a commercial license here. Please note that digital redistribution is not allowed...the printed, physical products are the only items allowed to be resold with the commercial license.
• These printable thank you cards are best printed onto letter-sized white cardstock (regular paper is too thin and flimsy and often results in curled up corners). 
• Grab a ream of white cardstock here on Amazon for the best price around. That's where I purchase mine.
• Once you print your card, trim just inside the outer black hairline. Fold in half (there is a faint black line to show where to fold your card). To get a nice, crisp fold, use the handle of your scissors and run it along the fold.
• Fill in your own note in the inside of the card.
