Not only do I have over 25 free farmhouse font files for you today, I also have several farmhouse font pairing ideas I'm sharing, as well. These ideas include tips to pair your own fonts together, too. If you enjoy a good font like I do, you're going to love all of these farmhouse-style freebies and ideas.

I'm sure the cat's out of the bag by now. I seriously love a good font. I just purchased a new desktop computer and it took me two days just to install my massive font library (we're talking thousands...and that was after I paired them down). Addicted. To. Fonts. I especially adore a good, free, farmhouse font. While my home doesn't necessarily have that popular farmhouse style, I do enjoy working with this style in the print and graphic capacity. It's a nice, clean style that has room for whimsy (my favorite), plus an added bonus is a lovely country feel. Whether you're into modern farmhouse style, or the classic farmhouse look, grab your favorite farmhouse-style fonts (or even all 25 of them) below.

Farmhouse Font Fun

Besides the fabulous fonts listed below, I have an entire gallery full of thousands of free fonts that I've curated over the past eight years. You can find that collection here. You're bound to find something that's the perfect choice for your fonting needs: from serif fonts to script fonts to vintage fonts, there is a typeface for everyone in these curated collections.

But, today, we're chatting about the pretty feeling of a good, farmhouse font. When we lived up in the Texas panhandle (15 years ago now), we lived in and amongst a wonderful farming community. A good amount of our friends lived in actual farmhouses out in rural parts of the state. The vintage appeal of farmhouse living was super interesting to me at the time (I'm a city mouse, but loved that farmy feel that small town gave me). I often looked for more rustic pieces to fill our home to mimic that look around us so prevalently. Fast forward to today and it seems like everyone is wanting that feeling in their homes. Farmhouse (as an adjective) exudes comfort and vintage in a workable, pretty way. 

Ways to Use a Farmhouse Font

There are so many ways to implement a font, but below are some of my favorites for this particular set of farmhouse pretties:

• home decor and decorations
• You can see in the above photo, the large cottage sign behind the sofa was made with both the Stuttgart and Tox Typewriter fonts for a fun "gather" look (both of these fonts are included in the list below). This bullet point is kind of similar to the SVG one below, but I thought it would still be helpful.
• invitations
• Hosting a farmhouse-style gathering? Use a couple of these fonts for a simple but lovely invitation. Fonts with lots of swashes are especially lovely on invites.
• logos
• If you decide to look into commercial use for some of these inspiring fonts (each font designer provides their own license information when you land on the download page), consider using these in logos for small businesses and shops. They give out that quaint family-owned feel.
• printables, posters, and signage
• Well, this is probably obvious since I create a lot of printables, but these fonts are so fun to work with in that capacity.
• stationery
• Create your own custom stationery by using one of the below fonts for a monogram or even a "from the desk of..." at the top of your header. You can do this in a simple word-processing program.
• SVGs and cut files
• Some of the bold fonts below are great for your custom cut files. I prefer a bold font in this capacity since it eliminates a lot of weeding. Use them on t-shirts, art, and more.

Installing Your Farmhouse Fonts

• I'm a Mac user (since 1997...I sadly know nothing of how a PC works, y'all). But, there is a super-thorough font installation guide for PC users here on Wikihow.
• To install these fonts on a Mac (since this is what I use, I can speak to that the best), follow my tutorial below:

• Installing Fonts on a Mac:

• After adding your font to your computer, open the folder it landed in. 
• Please note: there may not be an actual folder, it may just be the actual font file, in which case, you won't have to open a folder.
• Double click the .ttf or .otf file (I prefer .otf. or Open Type Format files if they're available, they can be resized and manipulated without compromising quality. But, they're not always available).

• Once you've double clicked the .ttf or .otf file, your dialog box should automatically pop up.
• Click 'Install Font' and your installation will automatically begin (it takes about two seconds, total). 
• Check your Font Book to make sure it's there and you can start using your new font immediately.

Farmhouse Font Pairing Ideas

While all of the above farmhouse fonts look great on their own, some are even better together (aren't we all better together, y'all?). Below, I've included some font pairing ideas for you to put into practice on your own creations. The best piece of advice I can give? Have fun with your fonts! But, there are a few rules of thumb for font pairing:

• Pair a bold, thicker font with a skinny, more delicate font.
• Pair a script font with a print font (combine this with the thicker/skinny from above idea and you're golden).
• I also like to do all caps with one font and pair it with a script font in all lowercase, but that's just my own preference.
• When I do the above pairing, I often do the script font on "top", allowing it to kind of sit on the all-caps font. The all-caps font acts as a nice "base". You can see how I did that in the first font combination illustrated below.
