I made this Chinoiserie Valentine Wreath for $2 out of pocket (I did have some of the items on hand). But, I was in the market for a fun, statement Valentine Wreath and this worked out perfectly. See how this bright and preppy Chinoiserie Valentine Wreath came together below.
I've been on the hunt for a new Valentine wreath for a while, now. The previous one I used was 16 years old. It was a heart-shaped berry wreath that was a part of a pair that hung on the doors of the chapel we got married in on our wedding day. I packed them away after that day and used one of them every Valentine's season. But, the berries were fading and starting to fall off, so the time had come for a new Valentine wreath. I made this Chinoiserie-style wreath with an existing boxwood wreath and some thrifted awesomeness. See how it came together below.

Chinoiserie Valentine Wreath
After all of the Christmas was put away, my porch looked super blah, y'all. I wanted something bright and fun that could not only work as a Valentine wreath, but really take me straight through the spring.
I've had this boxwood wreath for a couple of years. I grabbed it at Marshall's on clearance and loved the fullness of it. However, the ribbon never laid quite right...it was always so messy and drove me bonkers. So, it ended up in a closet for a while. But then...thennnnn,
I found the most amazing blue and white, ceramic, ginger jar, Chinoiserie trivet at my favorite thrift store for two dollars. And I knew it was destined for the middle of that closeted wreath, y'all. All I wanted to pair with it was a big, satin, pink bow. I ended up only using the larger ribbon (I had both of these on hand, so no cost there). And I used 20 guage floral wire to attach the trivet to my wreath. Floral wire is a staple for me...I use it for everything.
This cute little ginger jar trivet looks like it was originally from Linens-N-Things. Since all of their brick and mortar stores closed over ten years ago, I'm not sure how old this thing really is. But, hey...I paid two bucks for it and was super happy to have stumbled onto it. I ran my wire through the little hanging hook on the back of the trivet to hang it onto my wreath. It worked perfectly.
I started by just looping one long piece of the ribbon around the wreath and tying it in a tight knot. The actual bow I used just hung on the hook on my door over the ribbon loop. Sometimes, it's all smoke and mirrors around here.
I'm seriously in love with this little ginger jar, y'all.
And since I'm super gaga over all things Chinoiserie, be sure to check out my 2019 Chinoiserie Calendar here, too! It's full of blue, white, and FUN!
