Our first free SVG file collection was such a success, that I'm super excited to be sharing the next set with you! These 10 Free SVG Files for Winter are the perfect cut files for you to use for the upcoming season and gift giving. They're fantastic for shirts, pillows, sign making, and more. Vinyl cutting machines (Silhouette and Cricut brands) are kind of a game changer to use for home decor, clothing, and gifts. I don't have the fanciest model...I still use my almost five-year-old Silhouette machine for these kinds of projects and it's fabulous and still does the job. My favorite thing is to make gifts with my machine. Usually, I would purchase graphics from the online provider that works with my design software for my Silhouette, but the last few months, I've been dabbling at making my own. Using these Free SVG Files:
- These free SVG files are compatible with all software for Cricut and Silhouette machines.
- Don't have a cutting machine? I love my Silhouette Cameo that I've had for five years (Silhouette is not sponsoring this post!). You can grab the current Silhouette Cameo and its starter kit here on Amazon.
- A lot of my blogging friends use the Cricut brand cutter. I am not familiar with it, myself, by my friend, Amy, has lots of great advice for it here. And see the starter bundle for the Cricut on Amazon here.
- Download the files you like below.
- Open the file in the design software for your cutting machine.
- These files are all compatible with both vinyl and heat transfer vinyl: the projects are endless!
- I love using the heat transfer vinyl for pillows and t-shirts. But using regular vinyl with these creates some lovely signs.
- You are welcome to use all of these free SVG cut files for personal use and gifts.

Once you download your free SVG files, simply open each file in your design software to use as you normally would. Once you resize it to your liking, you can send it to cut and the cut lines should automatically populate. Remember, if you're using heat transfer vinyl, you'll need to both reverse your design as well as print on the "wrong side" of the HTV. ReplyDeleteAt this point, they can't. I often make the most popular SVGs into printables, as well. I will probably be doing that with these soon. And I completely understand...lol!

ReplyDeleteWhat am I doing wrong? I downloaded and when trying to open on my silhoutte the image is so huge that I can't figure out how to size it.
Hi Debbie-- I create the images larger in case crafters are creating large-scale items (it prevents pixelation). You can always size down, but sizing bigger isn't always a great idea since the image can distort. To resize, you can zoom out in the Silhouette software. Then click the item and then grab one of the boxes in the corners of the image and drag it to the size you need. Be sure to grab one of the boxes on a corner and not a side, so it keeps your proportions of the design consistent. Let me know if you have any other questions. THANKS!
