Three Cheers for the Red, White, and Blue! It's about that time of the year, y'all. Grab this fun watercolor patriotic pennant banner for all of your festivities. There is an option to just download the stars, too, if you prefer that! Downloads are available below.
Patriotic Pennant Banner Printable
Who doesn't love some pretty watercolor stripes? This simple little nautical look is perfect for the fourth! And those stars are available on their own, too. You could create a banner with stars only, or even add a star between each letter.
Supplies for Displaying Your Pennant Banner:
- free banner download (available below)
- letter-sized white cardstock (regular paper is too thin for banners and will curl up on the edges)
- twine for stringing (below are some fun options on Amazon that coordinate with this banner):
- red and white baker's twine
- blue and white baker's twine
- red, white, and blue baker's twine
- natural jute twine
- mini clothespins -or- a smaller 1/8" hole punch
- home printer
- scissors or paper trimmer (I own and love this one from Fiskars)
Directions to Assemble this Pennant Banner
- When you download the banner below, you can choose to just get the banner, or grab some extra star pennants to lengthen your banner.
- Print your banner onto the letter-sized white cardstock.
- Since today's banner is a watercolor design, you can use NORMAL or DRAFT mode on your home printer. While this doesn't work on every printer out there, often times the DRAFT mode will create slight striations in the print, giving it that authentic watercolor look on your banner. It's fun to play around and see how this looks.
- As pictured in the close-up photo below, I created a small blue hairline around each individual pennant. Trim each pennant just inside of that hairline, removing the blue line.
- Hang using mini clothespins or just punching with a hole punch (I prefer a 1/8" smaller hole punch for this, it doesn't interfere with the banner's design like a regular hole punch does).
- This pennant banner looks great hung up on the jute or baker's twines in the list above.
- Again, you can always add extra stars to the ends of your banner to lengthen it...or even in between each letter.
- You could also create a banner entirely made of just the star pennants, too.
