I've always wanted a holiday gallery wall. I tend to go all out with Christmas decor, why not add to the fun with the artwork, too? I worked with my friends at Minted to put together the festive new wall art in the living area. Check it out below.
I have always displayed Christmas cards from friends as artwork throughout the season. I wanted to expand on that this year. While I love our flea market gallery wall that usually hangs in here, it didn't coordinate with the direction this room took this year with our bright and bold mantel. This new holiday gallery wall helped to pull the entire space together and added such a playful touch.
Even though I adore the color, this room is a red-free zone. Red is actually my favorite color and our house has always been overly saturated with it. When we moved into this home, I challenged myself to a red-free room...to see if I could actually do it. I've carried this little challenge throughout the holiday season by keeping the red out of here (don't worry, it's in almost every other square inch of the house). I have a lot of my aqua very prominent in this space. This aqua color is the main thing in this holiday gallery wall, too. Minted had a lot of fun aqua pieces to choose from in all of their seasonal artwork.
This gallery wall is kind of anchored with the two larger pieces: the lady on the bicycle print and the figgy pudding print (which I had last year in our family room here). I also used the same finish on all of the framed pieces. I love Minted's Distressed Cottage White frame style...it goes with my home really nicely.
I deviated from the frames with three of the prints by utilizing the clipboards I had pickle-washed for my fall artwork. But I love these three fun prints on these clipboards. The fa la la la print is actually available in three color choices. The Mistletoe & Holly print comes in four color options. And the Partridge in a Pear Tree print is probably my fave...the art is so fun!
The penguin print was in honor of our oldest's love of penguins when he was little. And gosh, I can't get enough of the watercolor VW van print with the Christmas tree (it's available in a raglan t-shirt, too)!
I just love the aqua in this bicycle print...
it really just pulls it all together.
And, y'all...this one is just pure comic relief.
The winter print sums it all up...right down to the leg lamp!
I hung a little more over the piano, too.
Gosh...and I guess I do have a bit of red with my poinsettia.
This side of the room is a bit busier, but I do love my little village and how well it works on the built-ins. We also display all of the Santa photos of the boys over the years. They're 10 and 13 this year...but I'm still making them sit in St. Nick's lap, y'all.
And the mantel is what inspired this new holiday gallery wall. I have a Christmas tree over to the right of this mantel, but I'm doing a tree hop with some other bloggers next week, so I'm waiting until then to post about it.
This watercolor tree pillow was from Minted last year. I added it to this space this year since the colors worked so well in here.
I love this new holiday gallery wall so much that I moved the antique rocking horse that usually sits behind this couch since it blocked the view from my "spot"! Hoping you are yours are having a festive Christmas season, as well.
LOVE!! Can't wait to see it in person on Saturday. ;)
