Free Printable Summer Reading Bucket List

This Free Printable Summer Reading Bucket List is perfect for the lazy, hazy days. We've instilled an hour of reading time every day in our home this season and my people are flying through the books. This is the perfect way to jot down all of our literary (and comic book) goals for the next couple of months. And, this baby is about to join us on our epic road trip!

Summer is truly the only time I read. I would love to read all year...but I'm one of those that has to devour a book in a sitting. I will literally stay up all night and fly through a book during the summer. I just can't put them down. If I do it the rest of the year...I'm completely off my schedule and am a mess for a week to recuperate (from a book...HA!). But, in summertime, our alarms aren't set, our schedule is looser, and things are just easier...and mom can read!
Next week, we're actually going on a pretty big road trip through five states. And get this...our kids have never done one this long. I'm preparing a few different ways. I'd love for all of us to get some good reading in. One thing I'm doing is loading my iPad with audiobooks from Audible (I'm using my free 30 day trial) that we can listen to in the car. Check out all the fun below.

Since we're reading "family style" on the trip, I thought I'd add all of our books to one Summer Reading Bucket List. We've each had some input. Now that are kids are in the preteen years and are avid readers, their books are pretty interesting to us, too, so we don't mind playing their selections through the car speakers. It's fun to chat about the books, too.

My fourth grader requested my all-time favorite childhood book to be on the list: From The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. I loved this one as a kid, y'all. It was probably my first devour-in-one-sitting book. And what do you know? We downloaded it on to our Audible app and devoured it last night. One sitting. It was for the trip next week. Somehow, we just couldn't help ourselves.

Did you know the Audible app is a part of Amazon? Makes log in a breeze.

I'm also downloading a few just for mom. Perfect for earbuds when everyone else is preoccupied. Have I mentioned that I've never been able to read in the car due to motion sickness? I get it bad. This Audible app is a game changer for my road tripping, y'all. AND, bonus...a lot of their audiobooks are read by some of the best: Nicole Kidman, Dustin Hoffman, Samuel L. Jackson, and so many more. It's like they're road tripping with us.

Be sure to download your own Audible 30-Day Trial here. It's perfect for your own Summer Reading Bucket List. Your first 30 days are free on Audible with a free download of your book of choice. Membership is 14.95 a month with one free book credit every month and 30% off additional books.

We tried out the app on a recent mini-road trip. It worked perfectly.
And made for such a nice drive.

Here are just some of the books on our family version of a Summer Reading Bucket List (available on Audible):
