These Free Printable Maritime Flags are the perfect addition to your summertime decor.
Signal flags A-Z are available for download below.
I've been dying to post these maritime signal flags for the longest time, y'all. In fact, they were on my agenda as a free printable for last summer. However, I sometimes have more ideas than I do time to actually carry them out! These are just meant for decorative purposes...but aren't they just so fun!? I put together the A-Z signal flags in one set below. They each have their own meaning and it's kind of fun to even use them to spell out words (perfect for a nursery or kid's room!). In the print file, I included which letter each flag represents. For my photos, I didn't arrange them in any intentional fashion...so if I accidentally spelled out something a little naughty, I do apologize! ;)
I just love nautical decor in the summertime, y'all. I now have these pinned up everywhere. Technically, they *should* be hung on the side angle...but I just like them hanging like above. The first flag on the left (above) is the B, or Bravo flag, signaling: "I am taking in or discharging or carrying dangerous goods." They all have such interesting meanings. If you have a minute, look them all up and find out all of the history on the maritime flags....super fascinating.
They're perfect anytime of the year, but I love them with my summer decor.
I'm going to put a second set out on my porch, too.
I think they go well with my nautical anchor printable.
This freebie maritime anchor is available on Real Housemoms.
I designed these with a small white top border that you can use to punch your holes.
I didn't want the holes to interfere with the design of the flags.
I thought the red and white baker's twine was super cute in these!
What fun those are! They would be perfect for an outdoor party near water. I really like that one with the anchor.
ReplyDeleteMy dad is crazy about boats. We even had a plague made for his home office that says "Captain's Cabin." I'd love to use your printables to make him a birthday banner.
ReplyDeleteThese are so awesome, my husband is in the Navy and even I didnt know some of these. These would be super cute in a little boys room.
