Today, I'm sharing some simple ideas for entryway decor.
I love having a bright and cheery entryway. It's kind of the handshake of the house, no? Check out below some of the new additions I've made to our little front hall this spring.
My new entryway bench is from the Cottage Road Collection at Sauder.
You can see it on their site here. I love Sauder for great, affordable style and cottage furniture.
I love having a bench in the entryway. We don't have a mud room in our home and our laundry room {which acts as a pass-through between the garage and the house} isn't very large. This entryway spot serves as a great place to drop a hat, scarf, or tuck a pair of shoes. Above is the bench...but I thought it would be fun to dress it up with a few of my own fun things, too!
I moved my larger chalkboard to this spot a couple of years ago. It's instant artwork for every season...I don't have to rehang anything...just re-chalk it! I do love to swag a banner over the chalkboard, too...just to add a little texture and color to the top of the board.
I decided to add some globes from my little collection to this spot. Aren't globes so fun? They make me think of travel and other amazing spots of the world {I struggle with the grass always being greener, y'all!}.
I also added a simple throw for some color and texture.
The subtle colored books and the shades of fun on the globes add a great little spring brightness to this spot. I think the larger globe is my fave from my collection...it was a gift from a sweet friend. And as you can tell by the books, we love ourselves a little New York. And invitation design...apparently.
The end of the bench is the perfect place to set your hat and keys.
I placed another globe under the bench, too. I know this was a 90's fad, but I still have the "decorate in threes" rule always on my mind. Major creature of habit right here. This globe was another gift a friend had in her house for quite sometime...when she realized I collected them, she brought it to me. I love its copper base and holdy-thing...that's the technical word for the half moon contraption that makes it spin...I'm sure.
Welcome to our home! {I purposefully placed that arrow facing twoards the inside of the house...that's where I want everyone to come on in to!}
