A big thank you to Beddy's for sponsoring today's conversation.
We gave our youngest boy's bedroom a mini makeover with some super fun new bedding from Beddy's, and a few other small changes, too.
The last time I showed you all my son Jonathan's room, we had just embarked on the Star Wars decor. I thought I was all that and a bag of chips getting the beds some modern duvets to go with the motif. But seriously. A seven year old and a duvet?
And, although my boys have separate rooms, 99% of the time they both sleep in here. Every morning after they'd leave for school, I'd come in to find this craziness:
Every. Single. Day.
A few days a week, I'd make them myself.
The other few days...I just, well...shut the door.
Let's just say kids and duvets didn't work out so well in our home. And as I've mentioned before, my older son is on the Autistic spectrum. He's a bit of a neat-freak, and would just be frustrated that he just couldn't make a bed the way he wanted it to look.
So, to say our new Beddy's have been quite a step up is a major understatement. We selected the Modern Gray Beddy's. But all of their selections are completely off-the-charts-cute! Click here to see all of them or scroll down to see a couple of my girly-frilly faves {they almost make us want to try for another kiddo...like the girlie kind! Almost}.
I mean, you guys. The tidy-ness is killing me. In a good way.
It makes my heart go pitter patter.
I love the zipper mechanism on these, too. It's very sturdy and stands up to my kids making and unmaking it all day long. It also has zippers on both sides of the bed...perfect if your bed doesn't sit against the wall.
The interior of these is a sheet on the bottom and minky-fabric on top. The minky has been wonderful for our oldest...he adores the texture and how it feels against his skin. I also like that it keeps my younger son from falling out of bed...we just zip him in tight at night {and no tossed off covers during the night}! They're also very warm and cozy...they're definitely well-made. The top part has two side panels that come down for coverage if the kiddo doesn't want to be zipped in at night. And the entire thing can be taken off and washed in one piece. Hollaaaaah!!
Here's a great diagram of how the bedding works, courtesy of the Beddy's site. Each twin set comes with both a coordinating sham and a pillowcase, too.

We made a few other minor changes in the room, too.
I used this industrial metal roller basket to keep all of our dress up stuff together.
I try to keep his dresser cleaned off except for a big bucket of Legos and two lamps.

DeleteI've never heard of Beddy's but I definitely need to check them out for the trailer and at home. My boys are "particular" about bedding as they both have FASD and one has SPD as well. Sometimes it feels like we live in "The Three Bears" story so I can relate to your story about your son for sure. And I love what you did with the shared space....it's fantastic!
