Mason Jar Pin Cushion
Whether you sew or just know how to replace a button, this little mason jar pin cushion is a handy little craft that is super useful, too! It's perfect to store a sewing kit, buttons or whatever else you can think of.
How to Make a Mason Jar Pin Cushion
Supplies
- fabric (I bought some from the odds and ends pile for cheap, but also used some scrap I had on hand)
- a small 4 ounce mason jar (I grabbed one at Hobby Lobby, but you can grab a smaller one like the kind I used here on Amazon in a huge pack...perfect for gifts!)
- batting (I buy an extra pillow about once a year for a few bucks and use the batting in it for craft projects all year...huge money saver!)
- card board scrap
- glue gun/glue sticks
Directions
- Use the inner lid of the mason jar to trace a circle onto your cardboard and cut it out.
- Trace that circle onto the wrong side of your fabric, and then make an additional circle, about an inch larger than the original circle.
- Sandwich batting between your fabric (now turned over) and your cardboard circle. I like a nice plump pin cushion, so I stuff as much as I can.
- Hot glue the fabric around the circle.
- Stuff a bit more batting before you seal the deal.
- After your batting and fabric are secure, add a large glue dot to the "ugly" side of your fabric circle.
- Glue your lid to the circle.
- Pop the ring onto the circle and twist onto the jar.
- Fill it up with FUN!
