Today I am sharing a few of my simple tips to help you get prepared for your upcoming overnight guests. I believe that with just a few simple touches, your friends and family will think Santa made a special early trip just for them!
Tip #1- Seasonal Foliage
A little vase placed on the nightstand with some (free) greenery and (free) red berries cut from the yard is a nice holiday touch. Not only is it festive, this simple addition is a cue that this room has been freshly prepped for them!
Tip #2- Festive Bedding
One of the easiest ways to add some festivities is with some festive bedding. This red toile duvet makes the room feel like it's ready for a party. I think a nice comfy throw helps to add some texture and extra warmth!
Tip #3- Seasonal Decor
Just add a couple accessories around the guest room. Here you can see I hung a simple wreath in the window, a stocking off the dresser, and a barn star sits on the nightstand.
Tip #4- Barista Bar

I also love to set up this little tray filled with coffee, tea and hot cocoa. This way, if my guests are early risers, they can help themselves in the morning to some much needed caffeine. Because let's face it, we were probably up all night jibber-jabbering about old times.

Tip #5- Bathroom Basket
Make your guests feel extra special! Since our guest bedroom shares a bathroom with the little guy, I like to provide some special toiletries and towels in a basket in their room. This basket includes anything they may have forgotten as well as an extra hair dryer, fresh towels and some bottled water. For the extra festive touch, I added some Peppermint scented lotions and shower gels.
Here's to happy holiday hosting!

Love these ideas. I would never tell my friends, but I would prefer not to sleep on a lumpy mattress, so please don't put your 50-year-old discard on there. I would rather sleep on a blow-up mat! Also a small table, trunk, or box to put my suitcase on is really helpful. Love the colors in your room! And a coffee bar is over-the-top luxe!
