Ohhhhhh...poop {cookies}.
These are seriously crazy-easy.
Combine sugar, cocoa, butter and milk and bring to a boil.
Stir constantly while boiling for one minute.
Remove from heat and add peanut butter, salt and vanilla.
Add oats and mix completely.
Once everything is incorporated, they'll start to firm up a bit.
Drop by the heaping tablespoon onto wax paper.
Pop into the fridge for an hour to finish firming.
Soooo good.

There. I said it. And I'll say it again. Poop Cookies. I've debated for quite some time {all morning actually} whether or not I'd tell you what we really call these cookies around here. I take no credit for the name. The bestie {Lori} introduced me to these my freshmen year in college. And not to drag this even further into the bathroom talk...but it's probably obvious why we call these...well, poop cookies. Lori's also my dump cake buddy. Yeah, she's trouble, I tell ya. Dump cake. Poop cookies. Ironically, she's the classiest person I know. I'm not even a little kidding. You'd have to be classy to be able to throw around words like "poop" and "dump" and have them taste this amazing.
These are seriously crazy-easy.
You'll need:
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 TBS. cocoa powder
- 3 TBS. real butter {I use salted. Because I'm southern and that's what we do.}
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups uncooked quick oatmeal
Combine sugar, cocoa, butter and milk and bring to a boil.
Stir constantly while boiling for one minute.
Remove from heat and add peanut butter, salt and vanilla.
Add oats and mix completely.
Once everything is incorporated, they'll start to firm up a bit.
Drop by the heaping tablespoon onto wax paper.
Pop into the fridge for an hour to finish firming.
Soooo good.
I been wanting the recipe for these for years! A friend had some at the PTA meeting on Monday! And we ate them up! :) Thanks for sharing I can't wait to make them now!
ReplyDeleteToo funny! I have a recipe for these amazing chocolate butter cookies we made when I was a kid, we still call them "dog poop balls" as we so eloquently named them back in the day. :) My kids get as much of a kick out of it as we did.
ReplyDeleteI love them! My husband makes them, but we just call them dad's peanut butter candy. He leaves out the chocolate though. I like your name better...poop cookies. :)
ReplyDeleteA favorite of my kids when they were growing up, and now they make them for my grandkids. Still a favorite, and the easiest cookie to make. I've never firmed mine up in the fridge, just let them sit on the counter. Good to know if I'm ever short on time.
ReplyDeleteThis is just about our favorite sweet treat around here. I love that you call them poop cookies, LOL! We just call them "no-bakes" - whatever you call 'em, they are so good!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad someone else calls these poop cookies! My kids and I made these for Christmas then sprinkled red sugar on the top before they hardened. Ta Da...Reindeer Poop! =)
ReplyDeletehahahahahaha I like it. Reindeer Poop
DeleteHee hee, they totally look it. But I bet they taste amazing!
ReplyDeleteThese look great! I'm going to make them for the hubs sometime...and when I tell him what they're called, I can guarantee that they'll end up gaining a worse name than poop cookies...I'll let ya know!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love these cookies. Great name!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Have not heard that name for them, but whatever turns your crank. (or flushes your toilet - ha) Everyone needs a great no bake choc cookie and these look just mouth-watering!
ReplyDeleteLove the name! My family has always called them no-bake chocolate cookies. However, in the same vein, have you heard about kitty litter cake? There are lots of recipes posted around on the internet, but basically you make two box cake mixes, one white and one chocolate. After they cool, break them into tiny crumbs and mix together. (There might be some other ingredients too -- can't remember without looking it up.) Then you spread everything in a (new, clean!) litter box. Drape a few partly-softened Tootsie Rolls over the edge and bury some part-way in the crumbs, then accessorize with a new pooper-scooper! It's a great hit at parties!
ReplyDeleteHa! What a fun name for those yummy looking cookies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to a Round Tuit!
Hope you have a fabulous week!

They look delicious and I love that they are no-cook plus the name will be a huge hit my 8 year old twin nephews... they got me seagull poo the other year on their hols (chocolate raisins)
ReplyDeleteThese look delicious! I'm always looking for quick and easy yummy snack and the fact they are no-cook is fantastic!

A cup of coffee would go great with these. I'm currently hosting a giveaway to win a $20 Starbucks gift card and would love for you to enter! http://sarahsaturdiy.blogspot.com/2013/01/love-is-in-air-giveaway.html
ReplyDeleteYum! These are one of my faves!
ReplyDeleteEvery January I make those cookies for my brother's birthday. I use 3 cups oatmeal for my recipe and 1/2 cup peanut butter. I found that for fool proof cooking, cook the mixture to 'soft ball' stage using a candy thermometer.. they come out perfect that way!
ReplyDeleteWhen we make these we call them "COW PATTIES." If you have ever been around cows you'll understand how we came up with the name.
