I started out with this wooden tag I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby after the 4th of July last summer.
I gave it a couple of coats of spray paint using Valspar's La Fonda Copper, which is actually a deep orange, fall-ish tone.
I had some scrapbook stickers, also from Hobby Lobby. (I have never made a scrapbook page, but I swoon every time I'm in the scrapbook supply aisle because they have such really cool stuff.)
One of the pages was full of Thanksgiving and other fall holiday stickers which were perfect for this project.
I'll share with you my trick for laying out subway style art without a lot of headaches. Make a photocopy of the stickers you plan to use, cut them out and play around with the arrangement.
When you have the paper cut-outs arranged the way you want, snap a picture of it. (I used my cellphone.)
Now that you have a layout plan, adhere the stickers to your desired surface. I added some gem embellishments and a ribbon for hanging and in less than an hour, I had a cute and inexpensive piece of Thanksgiving art that won't take up a lot of storage space when the holiday is over.
I'd like to thank Kristi for letting me guest post here today and I'd like to thank all of her readers for taking the time to let me share my project with you! If you like what you see here, I'd love it if you would stop over at Silo Hill Farm and let me see if I can inspire your creativity.
