Last January, we decided to adopt a dog...and our lives have been incredibly enriched because of it! October is Pet Adoption Month. There are so many dogs in shelters just waiting to be in their forever homes...it's a great time to make one a part of your own family! #PedigreeGives #CollectiveBias
We were so happy to welcome our beautiful, five-year-old standard dachshund, Chloe, into our home at the beginning of 2014. She was a rescue dog. We adopted her from a local pet sanctuary where she had been for quite some time. She's been the most amazing addition to our family and we just love her to pieces. This month, Pedigree and Sam's Club are helping dogs in shelters with lots of bowls of food! More about our sweet girl and this wonderful promotion for pets below.>>>
Chloe is not only super affectionate, she's also very mild-mannered and loves to nap the day away (I sometimes find myself jealous of her!). She's fit into our family so well...we're not sure what we'd do without her. I'm still in shock that she was a rescue dog...there are some seriously amazing dogs out there in need of good homes. We keep Chloe healthy with regular check ups, good meals, and Pedigree plain dog treats, too...like the Dentastix that we can grab at our local Sam's Club.
These Dentastix from Pedigree are a great treat for our Chloe. When you purchase Pedigree dog products at Sam's Club during October, Pedigree will donate one bowl of dog food to a shelter in need. How awesome is that? Helping sweet pups in need...what a fantastic cause! Click here to see how good food can help those sweet shelter dogs.
Besides picking up some Dentastix for Chloe at Sam's Club, we also grabbed a big bag of Pedigree Adult Dry Dog Food to donate to our local animal shelter.
The dog food was available across the aisle from the dog treats...both in the pet care aisle at Sam's Club.
Not only did we have an opportunity to bring the shelter some much-needed food, they also let us meet all of their furry friends that were up for adoption. If we had more space, we may have brought a new friend home with us. Aren't these puppers so sweet? There are dogs like this in shelters all over the nation...just waiting to go home with a good family.
And these two fellas? Heart-melters, I tell ya!
My youngest could not get enough.
To celebrate our own rescue dog,
I created a Halloween Dachshund printable available below>>>
