He wanted it pretty thick, too. Next time, I would just use one package of the almond bark.
Here's what started this madness...Candy Corn M&Ms {they're flavored like white chocolate, y'all. To die for}. They're super addictive. I used about half of yesterday's Weight Watchers' points snacking on these babies. Totally worth every point.
We also used one package of Golden Oreos {Jon Jon's favorites}, a bag of candy corn mix {with the peanuts}, one bag of Candy Corn M&Ms, fall-colored sprinkles and 24 ounces of almond bark {I ended up adding more because someone thought this wasn't enough...in hindsight, it was enough...just spread it thin}.
Again, this was our personal preference for bark goodies. You can add whatever you like. Other fun things to include might be: pretzels {my mom never makes bark without pretzels...that would be sinful in her eyes}, pecans, Reese's Pieces, Nutter Butters, or whatever else you can think of. This is a great recipe to get creative on...you really can't go wrong.
We crushed our cookies in a zip top bag and laid them onto a bar pan that was covered in parchment paper. I wouldn't make bark without parchment paper {been there, done that, complete disaster}. We also scattered some of the candies around as well.
We melted our bark according the its package directions. Then poured it over the layer of cookies and candy. It has to be spread thin! Then, working quickly, we topped the bark with more crushed cookies, candy corn mix and M&Ms...then sprinkles {because sprinkles make everything better}. Lightly press down on the top layer to make sure everything is "stuck" in the melted almond bark.
Then pop the tray in the fridge for a few hours to let it firm up. Then break it up. Voila!
Again, feel free to get creative and use your own favorite treats.
What is your favorite thing to mix into bark?
