Thanksgiving is, by far, my favorite holiday. It kicks off the official holiday season. And let's face it, I adore anything autumnish. And, is it just me, or does Thanksgiving have autumn written all over it?
I decorate pretty simply for Thanksgiving...really fall in general.
Just simple touches here and there to take us through this special {and thankful} time of year.
I created a simple paper banner for over my mantle. And I've used the same one for several years now.
I keep thinking I'll make a new one, but I kind of like this one still.
A few other fall items are nestled into the mantle...this metal plate was from HobLob a few years ago.
This little pumpkin was bought for me by my in-laws a few years back. It was from an adorable little shop in Salado, Texas. I'll be introducing you to the amazingness that is Salado later this week.
My chalkboard even got a fall makeover thanks to inspiration from Heather over At the Picket Fence. {I literally held up my phone with a photo of her chalkboard while I drew mine}.
That Heather is always inspiring! Her kitchen island inspired mine back in the summer.
The bigger picture.
{I love that this was a no-cost decoration}
The little wooden pumpkins on top came from a craft booth years ago.
I also love to decorate with simple plates. I scored several Thanksgiving plates a few years ago at Marshalls...it was after Thanksgiving and they were just a couple of bucks each.
Something new to my Thanksgiving decor this year is this platter that sits on the dresser in the dining room. Would you believe I paid $2.50 for this?!?!? WOOHOO! Stumbled onto it at my local Goodwill. It had some black smudges on it that I knew I could get off. A little elbow grease and voila!
Another one of my post-Thanksgiving Marshall's plates sits in a little grouping in my kitchen {usually a cookbook sits here, but it's easy to pop this plate in there for quick decor}.
One last platter...this one was a gift from a friend in a previous city. I just love all of the colors.
How do you decorate for this holiday?
No matter how you do your decor, let the thankfulness abound!
